Sam Brandful

Sam Brandful’s career and working experience, spanning close to 30 years, has covered Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Procurement, Consultancy and Executive Management; resulting in a thorough knowledge of both Private and Public Sector systems and processes.

From 2013 to 2017, he served as the first Ghana Country Manager of Invest in Africa (IIA), a non-for-profit initiative that was established to bring together leading indigenous and foreign organisations across sectors, to promote sustainable development, job creation, economic opportunities especially for local enterprises and promote investments into Ghana. During his tenure at IIA, the African Partner Pool (APP) Ghana’s first cross-sector online marketplace and the capacity-building Business Linkage Programme (BLP) funded by the African Development Bank were launched.

Prior to joining IIA, Sam was the Country Manager of Crown Agents Ghana Limited with additional responsibility for business development in Liberia and Sierra Leone. His career with Crown Agents, spanning over 20 years, included local and international procurement and the management of several donor-funded projects.   He served as the Project Director for the design and delivery of short-term training on the Public Procurement Act 663; as well as the development of public sector procurement training materials. He also managed the Value for Money (VfM) Procurement Assessments Project of large value contracts for Ghana’s Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning; which saved the public purse hundreds of millions of US Dollars through the improvement of contract terms and conditions.

His early career in the private sector was shaped while working for Lever Brothers (now Unilever) in sales, marketing and procurement roles.

Since August 2017, Sam has worked full-time as the Managing Consultant of W.S.D. Consulting Limited, a company that he incorporated in 2013 to focus on providing Procurement Advisory, Business Development, Management Training and Investor Relations Services.

Sam has a Degree in Computer Science and an Executive Certificate in Management from the Henley Management College of UK.
