RICHARD OPONG: INFRASTRUCTURE/STRUCTURAL/ENGINEERING ANALYST
Over 30 years of consultancy experience in Business Development, Project Management, Engineering and Infrastructure Design, Procurement, delivery of Public and Private Sector Projects, and Investments.
He built his experience while working with leading UK Engineering firms including Allot & Lomax, Waterman Partnership, Brown & Root, Arup, and Mott MacDonalds; as well as his own Ghana-based Engineering and Project Management firm that has been engaged in building refurbishments and road maintenance contracts for the Ghana Highways Authority.
Of particular relevance to his Value for Money (VfM), procurement assessment experience are the various infrastructure delivery consultancy roles he undertook for the Tube Lines and Parsons Brinkerhoff of London; spanning a period of seven (7) years. He was responsible for Project Management and Design Assurance of multi-site line infrastructure across 150+ sites of London’s tube-train network.
Another notable project was the GBP45m interfacing of the London Underground with the Transport for London’s (TfL) GBP980million East London Line, through which his involvement enabled workstreams for PPP contractors to be monitored while reporting on cost and risk.
Richard holds an M.Sc in Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics from Imperial College, UK, and an MBA from London Business School.
